how to copy EPROM

Post by robot »

I have a vintage regulator based Z80 CPU. I need to make a copy of the EPROM. How can I do that?

You need an EPROM reader/programmer with programming software. The type of EPROM you want to copy is important. Then you need an empty EPROM. If a new EPROM is not erased, you need a UV eraser.

I am back again. Now, I have UV cleaner and EPROM programmer, both from eBay. I have tested both. Just I have a question, the programming software offers more EPROM formats - Intel, Motorola, Tektronix. I don't understand which option to check. Can you help?

If you only need a copy of the EPROM, this option does not matter. Read the contents of your EPROM and program a new EPROM with the file and the same option.
