last year, May 2023, I downloaded Circuit Studio from Altium. That's free with 30-day trial. I have never started it because Altium server for 30-day registration was down, not reachable. Yesterday I downloaded Circuit studio again. With surprise, the same version as last year. After installation required about 30 minutes, the registration failed because Altium server is down. The same problem as last year.

It seems that Circuit Studio is a dead Altium project. There is Circuit Maker, a new Altium project. This is probably a limited version of Altium 365. Circuit Maker should run in the cloud. I tested it briefly. Too many components, symbols, footprints are missing from the “extensive” library :D. The Circuit Maker cannot be used. Additionally, the user project you edit in Altium's Circuit Maker will be made publicly available. Imagine the situation: You are working on a new project, have an idea and are creating schematics and design boards at Altium. Providers and the public see what you develop. That's crazy.

We don't know anyone who uses Circuit Studio. The Circuit Maker appears to be a voluntary project. Altium LLC assumes that users create the schematic symbols and footprints for the library. Once the library is satisfied, Altium will begin charging users to use Circuit Maker.
