I need a frequency standard

Post by Ondra »

hi to everyone,
from time to time I need a frequency standard for calibration etc. I found many circuit diagrams on the Internet. All are 10 MHz, but some I doubt the precision. I would like to know what is the best method to get a 10MHz signal for calibration test instruments.

what of precision do you expect?

The best is the cesium atomic standard from which GPS signals are derived. You can use this if your frequency standard uses GPS.

I suggest you to use Jupiter GPS receiver which has 10kHz signal rather than 1pps. The 10kHz signal can be used for PLL to tune 10MHz local oscillator.

another way is to use high precision OCXO 10 MHz. The best are from Milliren Technologies, but quit expensive.
